Little Wonqueak Harbor was filled with storm surge and waves during the January 10 storm. The photo at the top of this post shows John Renwick’s much-photographed fishing shacks after the storm. John sent the picture below of the remains of his wharf.
John wrote:
That was where my little wharf sat across the road from my house. My boat was on the mooring in Bunkers Harbor. I spent 2 hours trying to save John Temple’s wharf and floats there. We were successful, but after 2 hours I was soaked to the bone. Prying the floats away from the wharf in the high of the storm was a chore. It took 3 men and a lot of 2 by 6s.
His wharf is on the way toward being back and useful. Here is a photo Pauline took yesterday.
