The Hancock County Planning Commission (HCPC), in combination with Acorn Engineering, is offering a workshop on coastal erosion at Schoodic Institute’s Moore Auditorium on Tuesday, September 22, at 5 PM. Focused on coastal dune and bluff systems, this will be the initial workshop in a three-part series. The full series will run through November and cover dune and bluff systems, stabilization methods, and regulatory considerations. A subsequent workshop will also include a site visit to explore practical applications.

The workshops are for municipal officials, staff, committee members, and volunteers. Local stakeholders, including impacted property owners, are also most welcome. For more information and to register for the workshop, see the HCPC fact sheet. Although the HCPC fact sheet asks for reservations by 9/15 in order to help them plan for the event, they will accept reservations up to the day of the workshop.
